44 missionary units serving in Albania, Brazil, Canada, Central Asia, 3 Countries of SE Asia, China, Ghana, Honduras, India, Kenya, Netherlands, Paraguay, Russia, South Africa, and the United States. Our roster is represented by 27 member missionaries, 8 non-member missionaries, 1 extended short-term missionary couple, and 8 retired missionaries.
Missionary Areas of Service:
- 24 (55%) serve internationally/international focus
- 12 (27%) serve locally
- 8 (18%) are retired
Missionary Budget:
$508,854.00 for 2009, which is 41 % of budget. An additional $60,000 + was allocated to our Missions Partnership Program in Brazil.
Supported Missions Organizations:
Braille Circulating Library, Good Samaritan Ministries and Child Evangelism Fellowship.
Immanuel’s Missionary Program is led by Missions Pastor Rev. Gary Wiley and our Missions Council which is chaired by Mr. Dick Anthony, Jr.
Missions Oversight:
We take seriously the work of our missionaries and visit them on their fields of service. In 2008, visits were made to Cameroon and India.
Promotion of Missions:
Our Women’s Missionary Fellowship serves our missionaries through prayer, correspondence and special projects. A Missions Display Board is located across from the Welcome Center. A weekly Prayer and Praise bulletin insert includes current requests from our missionaries. Our annual Missions Conference is held in the Fall.
Missionary Home:
Located at 2620 Park Avenue A 2-unit home is provided for missionaries while on furlough.
Missions Opportunities:
- Short-term Missions - in 2009, Albania, Denmark, Sweden, and Taiwan
- Mission Partnership Program – Brazil
- Local Outreaches which include Child Evangelism Fellowship, Vacation Bible School, Jails and Juvenile Detention Facilities, Chinese Ministry, and Good Samaritan Kids’ Club
